12 laws
THE GREAT LAW

As you sow, so shall you reap. This is also known as the Law of Cause and Effect. Whatever we put out in the Universe is what comes back to us. If what we want is Happiness, Peace, Friendship, Love... Then we should BE Happy, Peaceful, Loving, a Friend..

THE LAW OF CREATION

Life doesn't just HAPPEN, it requires our participation. We are one with the Universe both inside and out. Whatever surrounds us gives us clues to our inner state. BE and DO yourself... what you what to have in your Life..

THE LAW OF HUMILITY

What you refuse to accept, will continue for you. If what we see is an enemy, or someone with a character trait that we find to be negative, then we ourselves are not focused on a higher level of existence..

THE LAW OF GROWTH

Wherever you go, there you are. For us to GROW in Spirit it is we who must change and not the people, places or things around us. The only given we have in our lives is OURSELVES and that is the only factor we have control over. When we change who and what we are within our heart our life changes too..

THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY

Whenever there is something wrong, there is something wrong in me. We mirror what surrounds us and what surrounds us mirrors us We must take responsibility what is in our life..

THE LAW OF CONNECTION

Even if something we do seems inconsequential, it is very important that it gets done as everything in the Universe is connected. Each step leads to the next step and so forth and so on. Someone must do the initial work to get a job done. Neither the first step nor the last are of greater significance They were both needed to accomplish the task. Past, Present, Future They are all connected...

THE LAW OF FOCUS

You can't think of two things at the same time. When our focus is on Spiritual Values it is impossible for us to have lower thoughts such as greed or anger..

THE LAW OF GIVING AND HOSPITALITY

If you believe something to be true, then sometime in your life you will be called upon to demonstrate that truth. Here is where we put what we SAY that we have learned into PRACTICE..

THE LAW OF HERE AND NOW

Looking back to examine what was, prevents us from being totally in the HERE AND NOW. Old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old dreams... Prevent us from having new ones..

THE LAW OF CHANGE

History repeats itself until we learn the lessons that we need to change our path..

THE LAW OF PATIENCE AND REWARD

All Rewards require initial toil. Rewards of lasting value require patient and persistent toil. True Joy follows doing what we're suppose to be doing and waiting for the Reward to come in it's on time..

THE LAW OF SIGNIFICANCE AND INSPIRATION

You get back from something whatever you've put into it The Value of something is a direct result of the energy and intent that is put into it. Every personal contribution is also a contribution to the Whole Lack luster Contributions have no impact on the Whole or work to diminish it. Loving Contributions Life Up and Inspire the Whole.
The Power of the Human Voice
The power of the human voice (AKA TONING)

The human voice is considered one of the most powerful healing forces in our world. You can learn to use your own voice naturally - in ways you may never have known - for healing and for expressing your true self.

The vibration of the human voice is considered the most powerful healing force of all. The voice is the truest reflection of our inner health and well-being. It expresses the very essence of our nature. It is our life force, our breath with sound added to it. The tonal quality of our voice tells more about us then the words we speak. Our voices effect the cells and molecules of our body and can restore our innate harmony and perfection.

Singing songs and chants is one of the earliest uses of the voice for healing. It has been practiced in all major religions and spiritual traditions as a way to uplift our spirits and express feelings of transpersonal love and unity, of connection with the universe. Every country has a national anthem. In the Judeo-Christian tradition, we are most familiar with singing hymns and prayers. In shamanic traditions, medicine people heal wounds through chanting and seek power songs to protect and empower themselves and others. Some cultures use a form of singing called keening or wailing to release sorrow and heal the grief after a person dies. They move and rock their bodies while releasing deep emotions.

Singing Opens Us to New Vibrations

Singing is a very personalized form of musical expression. It opens up the whole front of our bodies where our deepest feelings are stored. We resonate from our diaphragm, chest, heart, lungs, throat, tongue, face, vibrating all levels of our being. It connects us strongly with our emotions, and helps us to open our hearts and get out of our heads, unifying our body/mind. It is difficult to stay in a low energy state (depressed), when we begin to sing. Singing allows our breath to deepen, our emotions to open and the sound vibrations to move and resonate through us rather than being held back. As we deepen our breath, we increase the life force within us. Our auditory system and internal awareness process become more sensitive. It is unfortunate that in recent times singing, chanting, making music and sounds are activities that have been more and more repressed.

Many of us have been told to be seen and not heard and have grown up afraid to open our mouths. We are all really natural musicians and singers, and like our ancestors, we need arenas where we can participate in sound. In our culture, we often participate passively with music making, becoming listeners, going to concerts or buying recordings of the "professional" entertainers who become superstar idols. Methods of training the voice have also been focused primarily for public performance emphasizing style and mannerisms associated with what has been culturally determined as "good" singing. Often "good" singing is not necessarily healthful singing. Such techniques as imposed vibrato strain the voice and result in improper use of the diaphragm.

Expanding and Allowing the Natural Voice to Emerge

The more healthful natural aspects of opening the voice have often been neglected. To open the natural healthful voice does not require a specific training method but involves a highly personalized process of self-discovery and inner listening. We need to get in touch with the tensions we are holding and begin to release them gently and lovingly through guided relaxation, meditation, breathing, and singing. It's important to work with deepening and expanding the breath, and concentrating one's energy in the pelvic cavity, supporting the voice from below, freeing the chest and upper body of tension so that the lungs can expand fully. Learning to use the diaphragm correctly is essential. Our unique natural voice emerges in a very easy, organic process as we release our tensions. Our voices become full of life force, and vitality, with increasing flexibility, resonance and expressiveness.

Toning is a powerful approach to healing ourselves through the use of the voice. It is a form singing, an active vocal healing meditation that can help us to free our natural voice, and connect with the deeper rhythms and vibrations of our being. This approach emphasizes the sustained vocalization of individual pitches which are resonated into specific body areas. In this process, one is required to bring one’s awareness inward and develop deep concentration. Sensory feedback is immediate and can be effectively monitored. Through toning, we can vibrate and stimulate our entire physical system. We can "tone up" our bodies; learn to regulate our blood flow, increase oxygenation, and "tune" our nervous system, glands and organs. As we focus inward and develop concentration, our mind chatter begins to disappear, and our emotions become calm. We become totally involved with the process and our awareness heightens.

Our Bodies and Ordinary Toning

We already practice toning in an unconscious way. The body often tones itself through natural body sounds. When it is tired, it yawns. When it is in pain, it moans, and when it is joyful, it laughs. Other natural body sounds include whistling, crying, screaming, shouting, gasping, snuffling, sneezing, belching, etc. When we slam a thumb in a door, it is natural to release a sound. These body sounds occur spontaneously, free from the control of the mind.

Most animals have a voice, expressed in this free way. Infants and children also tone naturally, with their cries, gurgles, grunts and imitative sounds. As we get older, our minds intervene, judgments come in, and we become conditioned to shut down and only use our voices in determined, controlled ways. Many of us were told it was indecent to make certain sounds, or that we don't know how to sing. Often what we say and how we say it are not congruent or in resonance. The tonal quality of our voices expresses something quite different than our words. As we come into harmony with our natural voice, we get more in touch with our true feelings and how to express them.

Studies have shown that sound enters our physical body directly before being processed by the brain, unlike vision, which must be filtered through the centers of the brain first, before we react to it physically. This is the reason why toning and singing can be such powerful therapeutic tools. Sound can give us immediate access to our emotions and a deep body knowing, bypassing the mind. We are made up of predominantly water and bones. When we begin to sing or tone, the water within us picks up resonance and vibrates our bones.

How to Find Your Natural Sounds

The first step in the toning process involves giving ourselves permission to make sounds and then allowing ourselves to explore these sounds freely. We begin with toning natural body sounds that are already familiar to us in our lives, that help us to release freely and spontaneously. It is important to get in touch with what tensions, negative thoughts and feelings we may be holding and begin to consciously let them go, allowing natural body sounds to emerge. It is good to heighten our awareness of these natural sounds, exaggerating them, allowing our bodies to move along with the toning. We can learn a lot from listening to children at play. They are natural toners. As we feel safe, we can create our own childlike sounds, perhaps remembering earlier times in our childhood and releasing different feelings.

It is through trusting ourselves and opening to our impulses that our experience deepens. As we tone, we learn to be fully in the present moment, fully with what we are experiencing, without judgment, becoming more fully alive and expressive. Our throats are the bridge between our mind and body. By opening our throats and voices, we can integrate all levels of our being. The power of the voice does not actually begin in the throat, but rather in the pelvic basin and belly, the center of our creative energy and body wisdom. We can feel the sounds rising up in us from deep in the earth, bursting upward through the pelvis and belly, releasing out the top of our heads. We can imagine preparing to throw a ball high in the sky and then letting go --- the feeling of release........letting the voice express this release ......

Roadmaps of life.....
All the major spiritual traditions serve the purpose of offering us a roadmap to guide us on our individual journeys to enlightenment. These roadmaps are made up of moral codes, parables, and, in some cases, detailed descriptions of mystical states. We often study the fine points of a particular ascended master's narrative in order to better understand our own and to seek inspiration and guidance on our path. In the same way, when we plan a road trip, we carry maps and guidebooks in an effort to understand where we are going. In both cases, though, the journey has a life of its own and maps, while helpful, can only take us so far. There is just no comparison between looking at a line on a piece of paper and driving your own car down the road that line represents.

Some people seem well-suited to following maps, while others are always looking for new ways to get where they're going. In the end, the only reliable compass is within, as every great spiritual guide will tell you. The maps and travelogues left behind by others are great blessings, full of useful information and inspiration, but they cannot take the journey for us. When it is time to merge onto the highway or pull up anchor, we are ostensibly on our own. Strange weather patterns, closed roads, and traffic jams arise in the moment, out of nowhere, and our maps cannot tell us what to do. Whether we take refuge in a motel by the side of the road, persevere and continue forward, or turn back altogether is entirely up to us.

Maps are based on observations from the past and we are living in the present, so we are the only true experts on our journey to enlightenment. We may find that the road traveled by our predecessors is now closed. We may feel called to change direction entirely so that the maps we have been carrying really no longer apply. These are the moments when we learn to attune ourselves to our inner compass, following a map that only we can see, as we make our way into the unknown territory of our own enlightenment.
Is Astrology Scientific?

Is Astrology Scientific?

The simple answer is yes—and no. Astrology, like medicine, is an art based on a science.

The natural world is not as chaotic as it seems on the surface. Science has always sought to discover the underlying order that governs the appearance and behaviour of phenomena, from sub-atomic particles to the movement of galaxies. Science also seeks an understanding of human behaviour through biology, psychology and economics, for example. Scientists set out to find "natural laws" that govern phenomena, then look for ways that the knowledge of these interacting laws (repeatable patterns of phenomena) can be applied for our benefit.
Observations, Measurement, Calculations

Scientific observations, measurements and calculations are used in astrology to generate the framework for meaningful, symbolic patterns. These patterns, scientifically categorised, reveal much about the way our world is constructed; they enable us to analyse, explain and predict social, political, emotional and other important characteristics of life on earth.

A vast database of analytical techniques and interpretative commentary has been accumulated over the centuries, through the dedicated observations and practical applications of astrological practitioners. Modern astrologers have also made impressive contributions, researching and categorising the effects of the more recently discovered planets such as Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, the influence of mid-points, asteroids, galactic centre and so on. It's an ongoing process.
The Art of Astrology

The art of astrology lies at one level in the construction of accurate profiles of personality and relationship, through the skilled interpretation of symbolic patterns, and in mapping the general tendencies that present themselves over the course of our lives.

Astrologers use scientific facts in the mapping of human consciousness and as keys to the understanding of experience. This is an interpretative process, which does not depend on accepting particular theories about how planets can affect us, or on whether they are a sort of synchronous clock ticking along with psychological and social factors on earth, or on some other causal process. The strength of astrology comes from the accumulated knowledge of centuries of research and observation, developed within a deeply intuitive understanding of the essential nature of the world, consciousness and the environment. Combined with accurate mathematical and scientific data, today's astrologers can use this established knowledge in the generation of valuable psychological, economic, or predictive profiles.
All Things are Connected

Astrology, however, is grounded in a profoundly holistic view. Astrologers believe that all things in our universe are intimately and deeply connected. The world, as we see and experience it, is a great deal more like a being than a thing. The world and its inhabitants are linked, like a body and its cells: the wellbeing of the one depends equally and mutually upon the wellbeing of the other. The spiritual side of astrology connects us consciously to the intentions of this world-being and how they apply to our lives as we live them.

The art of astrology lies, at the most profound levels, in the meaningful interpretation of powerful symbols. Through making sense of a range of apparently chaotic and unrelated events, astrology in the right hands shows how these events relate directly to us and generate the daily experiences of our lives.
How Does Astrology differ from Astronomy?

How does Astrology differ from Astronomy?

Astronomy is the science of mapping the positions and movements of celestial bodies. It tries to discover what these bodies are made of, and where they came from, using sophisticated technical equipment. This scientific endeavour grew out of three traditional studies that had concerned themselves with practical uses for our observations of the stars — astrology, navigation and calendrics.

Practical science seeks consistent explanations for events in the world and sorts any data gained in the process into a body of theoretical knowledge. The idea is that this knowledge may be used to explain and predict other events with some degree of reliability. Science is very much a way of looking at the world that defines what is true and what is false according to the current set of theories (or organised belief systems) popular with the scientific community at the time. Science is pragmatic. It does not believe in absolute truth.

Modern science is grounded in a skeptical, materialistic way of looking at the world. Its success has grown from the reduction of natural processes to their most basic relations and in constructing "natural laws". These laws, used for technological development, for prediction and for making sense of the apparent chaos, are supposedly based on observation, but are fundamentally the consequence of a particular worldview and its dominant theories.
Facts, or Meanings?

Science as taught today is a relatively recent phenomenon, based on a set of ideas which has been effective in explaining the material world up to a point. It has rid us of many pre-scientific superstitions and misconceptions based on false information. But have we thrown the baby out with the bathwater? Our scientific paradigm (set of theories) has generally been unable to perceive meanings in the effects of simple natural relationships, including the effects of our relationship with cosmic influences, such as the planets, the Sun and the Moon.

Yet it has not always been so. Thousands of years of detailed observation of the stars and careful correlation with events on the earth have shown all things in our world to be interconnected and that the connections may be mapped by observing the positions of the planets within the frame of the zodiac.
Luminous with Meaning

The zodiac ("circle of animals") is a symbolic pattern mapped onto the starry belt of the heavens, as seen from the earth. The essential character of astrology is one of formalising a deep intuitive understanding of nature and of human consciousness in terms of these symbolic expressions. The symbols used in astrology express and mediate the deepest and most subtle manifestations of the world in a language that is luminous with meaning and yet capable of practical application in terms of the events, emotions and relationships that model our lives, our aspirations, our societies and our environment.

Astrology is a scientific way of looking at the world, but it is one which is not favoured by the broad mass of scientists at present, because it explains the world using a different paradigm from those which are routinely accepted within the orthodox scientific community. This may change, as scientific theories develop and as extravagant reactions to past excesses begin to gain a perspective. Astrology, the mother of all science, may soon return to her rightful place in the universities!
